The 'Cruel Intentions' TV Series Remake Got Axed

Stop crying.
News came this time last year that Cruel Intentions AKA the film that taught us everything about karma/weird sex stuff was to be made into a TV series. Things have taken a new turn and the idea has been axed by NBC.
The series was apparently going to follow the story of Sebastian (Ryan Phillippe) and Annette's (Reese Witherspoon) son, Bash Casey. The driving plot line being that Bash finds Sebastian's diary and decides to head to his prep school and get deep in a "world of sex, money, power, and corruption he never could have imagined."
Despite the fact that the film's original writer and director, Roger Kumble, was down to write the series with the pair behind The Unauthorised Musical Parody Of Cruel Intentions, NBC weren't keen
"Because of the love for the pilot, (Sony are) optimistic about their chances," the series' director, Roger Kumble said. "I'm holding out hope and a lot of us are. I'm very cautiously optimistic – but I’m not buying a new car."
