The Kate Moss Portfolio

Kate Moss - more muse than model.

Kate Moss is possibly the most photographed - and most photogenic - personality in the history of fashion photography. From Corinne Day's iconic shots of a then unknown 15-year-old grinning beneath a feathered headdress while larking about on the beach, to the "heroin chic" aesthetic that defined the nineties, Moss' unique beauty has rendered her more muse than model. Unselfconscious and unapologetic, Moss supercharges an image, inspiring photographers to create some of their most imaginative work.

Danziger Projects, a NYC art gallery, have teamed up with Moss in choosing a selection of prints for an exhibition entitled The Kate Moss Portfolio. Images by some of the world's leading photographers - including Chuck Close, Annie Leibovitz, Glen Luchford, Mert & Marcus, Terry Richardson, David Sims, Mario Sorrenti, Juergen Teller, Mario Testino, Inez Van Lamsweerde, Vinoodh Matadin and Bruce Weber - are featured. The exhibition also includes unseen photographs of Moss taken in 1988 (the year before her career was launched in The FACE) by Gene Lemuel; Glen Luchford's pictures of Kate in Times Square on her first trip to New York; rarely seen pictures by Mary McCartney and Herb Ritts; and a recent series of silkscreens by British artist Peter Blake.

The Kate Moss Portfolio is showing at Danziger Projects, 527 West 23rd Street, New York, until June 30.
