the last chapter of genesis

You'll be in our hearts, Phil Collins.

When I was little (circa Titanic), I used to imagine the day when actors like Leonardo Dicaprio died. Would there be mourning in the streets? What would he look like, shrivelled, old and close to the end? Who would replace him? Well, that day has come. Except it's Phil Collins, not Leonardo. And he's retired, not dead. What I'm trying desperately to tell you is: PHIL COLLINS HAS RETIRED.

This video makes us love Phil Collins even more.

After seven grammy wins, one Oscar, 13 hit singles and more than 150 million albums sold as a solo artist, Collins has decided to hang up the drumsticks and bid farewell to his career in the music industry. There's no sex scandals, no drug addictions or racial slurs, and he most certainly has not been fired. Phil Collins has retired for a few good old fashioned reasons: wanting more time with his family, hating what MTV has done to the world and feeling like his career has come to a natural end. Oh, Phil, could you get any more wholesome?
