This Tumblr Psychoanalyses Your Emojis
Tiny windows to the soul.
Freudian slips are no longer just about saying one thing and meaning
a mother another. In this age of world wide web, they can also include visual language, like emojis! Those bite-sized chunks of shorthand will soon inevitably replace words altogether, resulting in a future hieroglyphic-based language that's so imprinted on the collective unconscious that people dream in tiny, flashing pictures.
But let's not get ahead of ourselves. For now, they're just being used to measure in the inner workings of a person's mental state on a Tumblr called Emojinalysis.
With the tagline, "Show me your recently used emojis. I tell you what's wrong with your life," the blog is run by a copywriter called Dan Brill and it's a pretty sweet idea.
All you do is screenshot your 'Recently Used' emoji page and email it along with your name and age, then old mate sends you back a paragraph, dissecting your psyche. God knows what he'd make of THIS old mess below. Something about being a babin' party animal gal? No? Whatever, Dan! You're not our mum.
