TLC's Highly Anticipated Final Album Finally Has A Release Date
Ain't 2 proud 2 beg.
Yonks ago, TLC's remaining members T-Boz and Chilli (RIP Left Eye) reached out to the internets concerning a final album. They made a Kickstarter account and explained that they needed to crowdfund the situation in order to maintain total creative control.
"It is ESSENTIAL that we create our final album completely on our own terms, without any restrictions, with YOU," they wrote, as they asked for $150,000 to produce their first record in 15 years. And aren't you glad they ain't 2 proud 2 beg, coz the internet hit them with a whopping $430k.
Much to everyone's concern, there's been a whole lot of silence since the crowdfunding kicked off over two years ago. But, a new update has appeared on the page announcing a tentative June 2017 release date.
Reasons for the wait? They're all on the Kickstarter page. In summary: "Tboz & Chilli were inspired to make a record that they could be proud of and they would not settle for less and sometimes you just cannot rush art. They demanded of themselves a record that would stand up to the great body of work created in the past and that you would be proud of; because your belief and support is the greatest form of love and we want you to be proud."
We ready tho.
