Top 10: Chinese New Year

Shop the Year of the Snake.

Chinese New Year celebrations begin today, falling on the first moon of the northern hemisphere spring. Forget popping a bottle of champagne and counting down to midnight (laaaaaame), the Chinese go all out with their New Year celebrations which last for 15 days until the last full moon rises. The streets are overtaken with colorful parades and firework displays which put Beyonce's Super Bowl efforts to shame.

2013 is the year of the snake, an animal which according to the Chinese zodiac symbolises wisdom, intelligence and self-control. So in other words, this year is going to be ruling.

Chinese New Year involves a lot of traditions, from eating uncut noodles (for longevity), giving red envelopes to family and friends (for prosperity) and wearing your swaggest clothes on New Year's Day to make sure the rest of the year is a good one.

To honour this last tradition and to celebrate the Year of the Snake, we've put together our top 10 Chinese New Year shopping picks. All are available to purchase on our OhLike shopping app now!
