Top 10: Frida Kahlo x OhLike

Celebrate her life by shopping!
Today, we celebrate the legendary Frida Kahlo. Born in 1907 and dying in 1954, her legacy in the art world is as immeasurable as her inspirations and persuasions, which were far-flung (and often dark).

Kahlo's life was punctuated by various health issues and a tumultuous marriage to artist Diego Rivera. As is usually the case with any bonafide creative, times of hardship meant better artistic output. For her, that meant more #selfie portraits. As she once said, "I paint myself because I am so often alone and because I am the subject I know best." She also stated, "I was born a bitch. I was born a painter."

As well as a being self-proclaimed bad bitch, she forged a distinctive look that the world of fashion won't be forgetting anytime soon. It involved the most famed monobrow of all time and a mishmash of things reflecting the folk traditions of her homeland, Mexico. Every colour, worn at once? Yes. Clashing prints? Of course. Garish costume jewellery? You bet. To celebrate her life, we've compiled some essentials for your very own Frida mimicry, should you feel inclined.
