Top 10: Sabrina, the Teenage Witch

Sony is making a movie adaptation so we look back at the awesome / lame 90s series.
Sabrina, the Teenage Witch

Sabrina, the Teenage Witch is getting rebooted, with a film adaptation in the works at Sony. The new adventures of Sabrina will follow the route of the Spiderman and Batman new-gens, telling the origin story of the young high-schooler with magical powers. To celebrate, here is an illustrated list of the top 10 things that made the totally lame 90s TV series actually kind of the best.

1. Salem, the cat
Sometimes played by a 100% realistic animatronic cat puppet, sometimes by an actual cat.

2. Sabrina's bedroom
Forget about Taylor Tomasi Hill and Margherita Missoni, Sabrina's house is where it's at. So many sun/moon/star motifs! Denim Curtains! Purple walls!

3. Mr Pool
Sabrina's supercool biology teacher, played by Paul Feig, who is not only the King of Comedy Directing (BridesmaidsArrested Development, Parks and RecreationThe Office) but also the actual inventor of Freaks and Geeks. Paul Feig!

4. Harvey
One in a long line of floppy-haired 90s TV boyfriends. We do not recommend Googling what the actor looks like nowadays.

6. Relevant guest-stars
Like, for instance, the Violent Femmes:

And Ru Paul, who played a hairdresser/Member of the Witches Council:

And Britney! Who, in turn, had Melissa Joan Hart guest star in her video for '(You Drive Me) Crazy', which was on the soundtrack to Hart's brilliant film Drive Me Crazy, also starring Entourage's Adrian Grenier.

7. Melissa Joan Hart
From Clarissa to Sabrina, and everything in between (ie. the aforementioned Drive Me Crazy).

8. The time Sabrina read The Bell Jar during lunch at the school cafeteria because she was sad
Totally did this too.

9. The opening credits
Like Cher's computerised/mechanical wardobe in Clueless except with magic!

10. Salem, the cat
He was at least 20% of what made the show actually kind of the best, so he gets to be on this list twice.
