Vika Gazinskaya FW13/14 Lookbook

Faux fur is in!

Vika Gazinskaya is one of our favourite appointments at Paris fashion week. Not just because she's one of The Russians, but because she always has something different to say. This season it was statement about fur used by the fashion industry — poignant considering how much we saw of it on the runway for FW13/14.

Instead, for her collection, Vika (who we interviewed for Oyster #99) decided to make fake animals — complete with tails, paws and happy little faces — made from wool. Worn as scarves or stoles, they look like cute stuffed toys which is probably the most comforting thing you could wear during the bitter winter months. In addition to these critters, Vika worked with those sculpted voluminous shapes and those intricate design quirks she does so well: such as petal-shaped bows and hand-embroidered ornaments or jewellery on dresses.
