Watch: Alexa Chung, Lena Dunham & Tavi Lip Sync for Women's Rights

Webcams for Obama.

It's a known fact that girls love any opportunity to record web cam videos of themselves lip syncing to pop songs (chances are if you will look at the computer of any female under the age of 35 you will find at least one 'cover' of Tina Turner 'What's Love Got To Do With It'. Consider me guilty). Obama campaigners have caught on to this universal fact, and have enlisted some best-women to lip sync for a cause.

Alexa Chung, Lena Dunham (who we interviewed for our All Woman Issue), Tavi Gevinson (we also featured her in the same issue), Miranda July, Karen Elson, Sia, Zoe Kravitz, Tennessee Thomas and other legends have all submitted DIY footage of themselves singing along to Lesley Gore's female-empowerment anthem 'You Don't Own Me' (Lesley herself also makes an appearance in the video). The viral campaign urges women not to give their vote to Mitt Romney, who has not supported equal pay and same sex marriage, has vowed to defund Planned Parenthood, and wants to take action to ensure birth control isn't covered by health care.

From the campaign's Vimeo:

"A vote for Obama sends a message: This war on women must end. We will not go backwards. This election is shockingly close. Our safety is at stake. Our silence is consent and our vote is our voice. Let's get active... Once and for all, let's take back the power that is so inherently and naturally ours!"
