Watch: Broken Bells 'Holding On For Life'

Space madness.

Broken Bells duo (made up of Danger Mouse and Shins frontman James Mercer) are using their upcoming album After The Disco as an excuse to create an epic sci-fi film, directed by Jacob Gentry. Part 2, 'Holding On For Life' has just been released and it's both mind and time bending. We're as impressed by the visuals as we are perplexed by the story line. Starring Anton Yelchin (from Star Trek Into Darkness) and Kate Mara (from American Horror Story) the clip picks up where the first part, dropped a few weeks ago, left off.

As the director told EW, "The last video we had done for 'The Ghost Inside' was more like a narrative short film done in a similar way, so we thought this could be a spiritual sequel," he said. "But we wanted this to be more fantastical, psychedelic — like Logan's Run and Barbarella — but still live in the Broken Bells universe." Danger Mouse wrote the story himself. Props! Watch the disco that messes with reality below.

And in keeping with the time-bending nature of the films, here's Part 1, 'Angel and the Fool.' Watch them in reverse.
