Ya Boy Kendrick Lamar Hints At New Album In Mysterious Insta Post

Good kid, mad cryptic.
Oh god. Is it happening? Kendrick Lamar has basically confirmed a new album is about to drop via a pretty cryptic Instagram post, which consists of just a black square and the roman numerals IV in the centre.

This is almost definitely a reference to his previous releases: 2011's Section.80 (I), 2012's Good Kid mAAd City (II) and 2015's To Pimp a Butterfly (III). Of course this leaves out non-studio releases such as the Overly Dedicated mixtape and the compilation record Untitled Unmastered.

There's no trace of solid info on the new record, just a few encouraging quotes from the limited interviews he's done. "I know exactly what I want to say next," he told the Guardian. "Everything is going to make sense – not only to myself but to anybody who wants to understand life and music. Everything will make a little more sense."

In an interview with the T Magazine, he said he was working on a working on a "very urgent" new album, reflecting on "how wayward things have gone."

"To Pimp a Butterfly was addressing the problem," He said in the same interview. "I'm in a space now where I'm not addressing the problem anymore. We're in a time where we exclude one major component out of this whole thing called life: God. Nobody speaks on it because it's almost in conflict with what's going on in the world when you talk about politics and government and the system."
