You and I by Ryan McGinley

A new book just in time for Christmas.

One of our favourite contemporary artists, Ryan McGinley, has a new book coming out titled You and I. Published by Twin Palms, the book will feature early works (which avid fans will know are hard to get a hold of) as well as recent photographs, which have seen a shift away from capturing East Village subculture and are instead immersed in nature. A friend and favourite of VICE magazine, McGinley, who shoots on 35mm film, first became known for his documentation of normal New York teenagers, skaters, graffiti artists - friends who he would take Polaroids of. In recent times, he has also photographed celebrities like Kate Moss, Lady Gaga and Tilda Swinton, while remaining true to his original aesthetic.

McGinley released his first book, The Kids Are Alright in 2002, which was handmade and given to only a few people. He also has Sun and Health (2006), Moonmilk (2009) and Life Adjustment Center (2010) under his belt.

You and I is set for release on the 21st of December but is available to pre-order now. With Christmas just around the corner it seems like perfect timing.
