You're Invited to The Thousands' Biennale Party
Did someone say free nail art and hamburgers?
Those clever guys over at The Thousands are throwing a Biennale party this Friday night in Sydney so you can be cultured (art!) while getting boozed (alcohol!). Their latest issue will come to life, and they've got a whole heap of tricks up their sleeves.
One of the things that we're most looking forward to is the free nail art manicures on offer from Nail Polish Addicts Anonymous. What woman in her right mind doesn't want watermelon-themed talons? Speaking of food, there will be free hamburgers to feast upon. I repeat, free hamburgers.
We feature P.A.M. in our 100th issue, and one-half of the label, Misha Hollenbach, has curated a selection of publications which will be read aloud on the evening. Naughty Rappers (which includes members of Spod, Straight Arrows and Fishing) will be playing live, along with DJ sets from Sunset People and Jingle Jangle, and film Dead Man will also screen.
Care of The Distillery, you'll also be able to set and press your own designs using a foot treadle 1910 printing press, which will definitely make for an excellent post-party story. Ksubi (also featured in #100) and Something Else (featured in #99) have created a couple of outfits which you can win simply by showing up.
The event is free and everyone's invited! It kicks off at 6:30pm (and goes until 9:30pm) at the Biennale Bar, Pier 2/3, Walsh Bay. RSVP here or cry at home alone while eating a microwave dinner in front of the TV.
