Rodarte Is Leaving NYFW… Again

TTYL NYC.

Remember when Rodarte decided to return to New York to show their most recent collection? Well, that didn’t last very long. After heading back to NYC with their S/S ’19 collection after an off-season presentation and one in Paris, the Mulleavy sisters have decided they’ll be taking the brand to Los Angeles for AW19.

“California is one of our most important influences and having our first show in Los Angeles is a dream we’ve long wished to make reality,” they wrote in an Instagram post.

Though it will be Rodarte’s first LA presentation, other brands have moved their collections to the City of Angels over the last few seasons. Hedi Slimane showed Saint Laurent there, Jeremy Scott presented his Moschino Resort ’18 and menswear collections there… even Tommy Hilfiger showed his TOMMYNOW collection at the Santa Monica Pier. And who could forget Maria Grazia Chiuri’s third Dior collection in Calabasas?

It looks like the fashion world might be moving West. And hey, if it’s always summer in LA, does that mean we’ll get SS looks year ’round?
