Saint Laurent Announce ‘Self 02’ Featuring Vanessa Beecroft’s Female Army

Anthony Vaccarello, currently feeling his selfie, has just launched the second instalment of Saint Laurent’s Self series. Curated to allow his favourite creative humans to explore what ‘self’ is and what it is capable of, Self 02 features the work of Italian conceptual artist Vanessa Beecroft.

Beecroft’s work confronts viewers with female bodies, stacked, to push thoughts and conversations on gender, race and most certainly identity. For this presentation, her female army stand dressed in Saint Laurent’s SS19 collection, backed by a Parisian skyline — taken just after the house’s show.

“Self is formed by a heady mixture of attraction, ambivalence, and mystery,” the press release states. Tick, tick and tick.

On show at Miami Art Basel, December 1-15.
