Riccardo Tisci On Casting The Givenchy Man (From Oyster #107)

We dem boyz.

For Oyster #107: The Romantics we asked the legendary Riccardo Tisci to introduce us to some Givenchy boys. These perfectly cast humans were carefully selected by Riccardo who swears he never looks at a model’s books but tries to get to know them instead.

“If you look at each model, they are very strong but also very sweet at the same time. They’re romantics,” Riccardo says. “In castings I never ask to see the models’ books… I prefer to talk to people and understand their characters.”

As far as his current inspo goes Riccardo said, “I’m obsessed with America and Latino America; it’s all about an American dream.”

PS: Givenchy are presenting their women’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection at New York Fashion Week and you can watch the runway show live right here. Tune in at 8am tomorrow AEST and stay tuned for full post-show coverage.
