Telfar Will Show Its Next Collection at Pitti Uomo

Mi scusi!

New York-based Telfar Clemons has announced that he will show his SS20 collection as a guest designer at Pitti Uomo in Florence. After presenting his last collection in Paris, the designer was invited to be part of the biannual Italian event in which the top designers in the realms of menswear, fashion, jewelry and the press gather to view the latest lines.

“Telfar Clemens is one of the most interesting figures on the contemporary scene,” said Lapo Cianchi, Director of Communication & Special Events at Pitti Immagine. “For fifteen years, he has been promoting with tenacity an idea of inclusive and accessible fashion and business. We are happy to offer him the opportunity to present himself to the Pitti Uomo community, and I am sure that the event in Florence will provide further meaning to a message that is already strong and vibrant.”

A New York fashion staple, Telfar is known for his agenda designs that focus on breaking down ideas of identity and social convention. In 2017, the brand won CFDA’s Vogue Fashion Fund, and since has become known for his radical Fashion Week presentations — the last few have featured performances from Blood Orange, Oyinda, Kelela Ian Isiah and many more.

“We are honoured to be invited to show, where the deep sense of history and continuity sets the scene perfectly for something entirely new,” Clemens added in a statement.

This year’s Pitti Uomo will take place January 7-10.
