Get In The Holiday Spirit With Burberry’s New Festive Campaign

Family gathering.

It’s only six weeks ’til Christmas and as much as we are all collectively screaming, “Oh god no, already?!” we are also sitting back and letting the good times come through via the appropriately extra holiday campaigns from our fave brands. And, since Burberry is usually at the top of their game, it’s no surprise theirs has come first. Teaming up with legendary photography duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot, Riccardo Tisci has rolled out his first festive campaign as creative director for the brand, and it’s called ‘What Is Love?’

Featuring a stellar lineup of models including Carla Bruni, Fran Summers, Boychild, Wu Tsang and many more, the imagery is “connected to the idea of unity, togetherness and challenging the perception of what love is today,” says Tisci. “This for me is the real spirit of the season. It’s one of my favourite times of the year — when I can stop, reflect and reconnect with those who make me feel happy and at home, no matter where I am in the world.”

As for his casting, “I loved the idea of bringing together a group of people that have been so supportive of me since I joined Burberry to celebrate my first holiday campaign for the house,” said the designer.

The collection itself features evening wear, jackets, bags and accessories, many in Burberry’s signature monogram check. But Tisci has also continued bringing his fresh aesthetic to the label, offering up chainmail minis, silk jumpsuits and an insane pair of faux fur pants.

If that’s not love (and all about the Christmas spirit), we don’t know what is.
