Bjork Heals Her Heart, Creates Magic In ‘The Gate’ Video [Watch]

Godmother of weird, Björk, premiered a new video at London Fashion Week over the weekend, and it’s now online for everyone to bask in. ‘The Gate’ comes via frequent collaborator director Andrew Thomas Huang, with creative direction from Björk, Alessandro Michele (who designed the dress in the clip) and James Merry (who mad the headpiece). It is CGI-heavy, and it is magic.

In her last album Vulnicura, there was a ‘chest wound’ that related to the emotions following her divorce. In ‘The Gate’, the wound heals. “The wound was going through that whole album, especially in the video for ‘Family’,” Björk said in a Q&A on Friday. “To come through that with Andy in the visual world – we’d almost gone into short speech describing that he’d be the one directing this video, where it (the wound) heals.”
