For quite some time James Franco has been working on an unpacking of cult classic The Room. Unsure if the biopic is intended to clarify exactly what the heck was going on in the original, or obscure it further, one thing’s for sure is that the results are truly something.
The trailer opens with Tommy Wiseau and Greg Sestero dreaming about fame. Eventually Tommy ends up in front of Judd Apatow in a restaurant delivering: “To be, or not to be.” To which Judd says, “it’s not going to happen for you, not in a million years.” Tommy, god bless, asks “What about after that?”
Eventually we get weird sex and death scenes and, as f this was never going to happen, a full frontal “oh hi Mark” and “you are tearing me apart, Lisa!”. Franco does it reaaaalllll good.
The Disaster Artist: The Making of the Room is out December 1.
