Oyster Market: Matthew Adams Dolan Shot By Sam Nixon For Oyster #111

Full-body JNCO nostalgia.

There’s very little urgency in the work of Matthew Adams Dolan — and in 2017, this is a compliment. Even more so considering Dolan’s recent relocation from Sydney to New York and that he now counts Rihanna as a fan. He’s considered: textiles are detailed in their quilting, bunching and fraying; yet flexible: loose threads propose that there’s still work to be done, or new possibilities and forms to morph into. Proportions oscillate between shrunken fits and surging hemlines, with a sense of flux, freedom and full-body JNCO nostalgia.
