Original riot grrrls and female occupiers of punk space, Bikini Kill, performed a surprise show on Saturday night — their first show since breaking up in 1997. It all happened on the last night of Jenn Pelly’s release party for her new book about The Raincoats, and not even she knew it was going to happen.

Organised by the venue owner and Raincoats collaborator Shirly O’loughlin, the grrrls got up and performed ‘For Tammy Rae’, and you can watch it right here:
