Facebook To Roll Out Dating Features As If Unsolicited DMs Weren’t Already A Thing

Opting for more tender than Tinder.

Facebook has announced that it will be releasing dating features soon. In the announcement, they make sure to heavily reference “meaningful relationships” — perhaps because we know that Facebook is already seen by some as a great tool for sending unsolicited DMs containing pictures of body parts. In any case, they’re opting more for tender than Tinder.

It looks like it’ll work with events — you unlock your dating profile within an event, and you get to see other unlocked dating profiles of people who’re attending. For singles, this is like getting a bit of a scene report before you arrive at a party. Rightio.
