So, Forever 21 Has Been Slipping Atkins Diet Bars Into Plus Size Clothing Orders

Noooo no no no no.

While Forever 21 hasn’t ever really been a company that has been held to high moral standards, what with its reported sweatshop-like working conditions, its failure to pay staff correctly, its fines over safety hazards, over 50 alleged copyright violations, use of toxic metals, and its Christian agenda, their most recent move still shocks.

If you can believe it: Forever 21 has been slipping Atkins weight-loss bars into orders that contain plus-sized clothing. This is… incredible. While it is true that we, over here, would not complain about a free snack, it’s also incredibly rude, uncalled for, and a fairly shit message about dieting to be sending to young people regardless of their sizing.

Since being called out online, Forever 21 has released a statement pinning it down to an “oversight”:

“From time to time, Forever 21 surprises our customers with free test products from third parties in their e-commerce orders. The freebie items in question were included in all online orders, across all sizes and categories, for a limited time and have since been removed. This was an oversight on our part and we sincerely apologise for any offence this may have caused to our customers, as this was not our intention in any way.”
