Just when I think the world can’t get any weirder (or darker for that matter), what with goth Crocs, KFC bucket hats and creepy $122,000 Timothรฉe Chalamet dolls, something new happens and leaves me feeling, well, shook. Today, that strange feeling inside is (yet again) courtesy of the internet, and people on the internet, who are now obsessing over alien and Area 51 porn.

If you haven’t heard, it all started out as an internet prank about storming classified Nevada air raid facility and long-rumoured alien hotspot, Area 51. Naturally, the joke turned into memes, which turned into more jokes and news stories, which turned into the US Government thinking it was a serious threat… and that’s par for the course with these things. But apparently, it also spawned a whole wave of people looking up aliens on PornHub. Cool.

According to statistics published by the porn site, searches for โ€˜Area 51′ have grown from a whopping zero to 160,000 in four days, with 59,000 searches on July 16 alone. The site also says that searches for the word ‘alien’ creased by 217 per cent on July 2, then again by 199 per cent on July 15, with more than 30,000 people “[shooting] their rockets off” to alien porn videos every single day. The top 20 searches using the word alien include “alien impregnation” (that’s number one shockingly), “alien probe” and “sexy alien babe,” which, after searching the web, I believe likely looks something like this:
